TURKU MARKET SQUARE COMPLETED 1200x800px

TURKU MARKET SQUARE COMPLETED - BUSES HAVE RETURNED

The New Market Square’s inauguration was celebrated in mid-September. The inauguration attracted over 100,000 visitors to Hansakortteli Shopping Centre over the weekend.

The completion of the Market Square has been positively reflected also in Hansakortteli’s customer flows, and the rest of the year is expected to continue with strong growth.

“The opening weekend of the Market Square was a success. The most gratifying thing is that according to data, a quarter of the visitors have not visited us for a while,” says Shopping Centre Director Timo Palviainen.

The street areas surrounding the Turku Market Square and the bus stops in the square are now ready for public transport. As a result, Föli buses returned to the Market Square.

“In addition to great public transport connections, there are underground parking lots under the Market Square for about 600 cars, gateways to the adjoining commercial business blocks, and elevators to the pavilion restaurant buildings. We now have one of the most accessible city centres in Finland”, emphasizes Palviainen.

NEW IN HANSA

A FAMILY ROOM OPENED 1200x800px

A FAMILY ROOM OPENED, AND THE FOOD COURT RENOVATED

A family room named Little Hansa has just opened in Hansakortteli. The colorful, child-inspiring space is designed to serve especially families with infants and toddlers. The space was developed based on customer feedback and together with Hansakortteli´s own customer board.

Little Hansa has a children's playground and comfortable space suitable for nursing, feeding and caring for infants and toddlers. There are various services available, such as a diaper and coffee machine. Hansakortteli plans to organize a versatile program of interest to families.

“For a long time, Turku city centre has lacked a space that serves families with children, where the functions of play, eating and care are combined. The new Little Hansa family room has its own space on the second floor of the shopping centre,” says Mirva Järvinen, Hansakortteli’s Marketing Manager.

Besides the new family room, Hansakortteli has renovated its food court. The space is now more inviting and cozier with wood wall panels and new furniture.

HANSAKORTTELI STEPPING UP TO REDUCE ITS ENERGY CONSUMPTION

In line with the call from the Finnish government, Hansakortteli is stepping up its efforts to reduce energy consumption in order to contribute to the national effort.
